How do I make an organic blob shape for my website?
Open gooo.ooo, switch to Blob mode, and drag the control points around the edge of the shape. Each point moves the outline with it, so pulling one out stretches that side into a lobe. Click or tap an empty stretch of the outline to add a point where you want more control, and double-click or double-tap a point to remove it. When the silhouette looks right, pick a gradient and export it as SVG or PNG.
How do I make a gradient blob without Photoshop or Illustrator?
gooo.ooo runs entirely in the browser, so you don't need Photoshop, Illustrator, or any installed software. You sculpt the shape by dragging points, choose a linear, radial, conic or mesh gradient, and the gradient is rendered inside the shape rather than behind it. Export gives you an SVG or PNG you can drop straight into a design file or a web page.
How do I make a blob shape with a hole in it?
Add a second shape and overlap it with the first. Where the two overlap, the area is carved out, leaving a hole through the shape. The hole is part of the exported path, so it stays transparent in the SVG and in a PNG exported with a transparent background.
How do I make a gradient shape by hand instead of randomly generating one?
Most blob generators give you a dice button and a couple of sliders, so you reroll until something looks close. gooo is built the other way around: every point on the outline is a handle you drag, and what you pull stays pulled. There is a randomise button when you want a starting point, but you are never limited to what the randomiser happens to produce.
Can I edit the blob shape myself, or is it random?
You edit it directly. Drag any control point to reshape the outline, click or tap the outline to add a point, and double-click or double-tap a point to delete it. Randomising is optional, not the only way to get a shape.
How do I make a blob with a wavy or zigzag edge?
Change the edge style. gooo has six: smooth, hard, zigzag, wavy, irregular and organic. Each one redraws the outline between your control points, so you keep the silhouette you sculpted while changing how the edge itself behaves. An intensity control sets how pronounced the effect is.
How do I turn a logo or PNG into a blob shape?
Drop an SVG or PNG onto the canvas and gooo traces its outline, then re-blobs the rest into a soft, draggable shape. This is deliberately not a faithful vector conversion — it's a stylisation. If you need an exact vector copy of a logo, use a tracing tool instead.
Colour, texture and depth
How do I add grain or noise texture to a gradient shape?
Switch on grain and set the amount. Grain adds fine noise across the gradient, which softens the banding you often get in a smooth gradient and gives it a printed, tactile look. There are also surface treatments — vignette, sheen, speckle, dots and emoji — that sit on top of the shape.
How do I make a 3D or extruded gradient shape?
Turn on depth. gooo extrudes the shape into a 2.5D solid by stacking layers behind the face, with a matte, glossy or metallic finish and a light direction you can point wherever you like. It stays a flat vector export — the depth is built from stacked layers, not a 3D render.
How do I make an animated blob background for a website?

How do I export a blob as an SVG from my browser?
Press the Export button (or the X key) and choose SVG. The file downloads directly from the
browser — nothing is uploaded to a server, because the whole tool runs on your machine. You can export the
shape on its own or the full canvas, and choose a transparent or solid background.
What's the difference between exporting a blob as PNG and as SVG?
PNG is pixels: fixed resolution, universally supported, and the right choice for a slide, a social post, or anywhere that won't accept a vector. SVG is vector: it stays sharp at any size, the file is usually far smaller for a flat shape like this, and you can restyle it in code afterwards. For a website hero or anything that scales, use SVG.
Can I get the CSS or React code for a gradient shape?
Yes. Alongside a plain SVG file, gooo can hand you the shape as SVG markup, as SVG with CSS, or as a React component you can paste into a project. That's part of gooo pro.
What size PNG can I export?
1K and 2K are the standard sizes, and 4K is available as part of gooo pro. You can also copy the PNG straight to the clipboard instead of downloading it.
Can I export a blob with a transparent background?
Yes. When you export you choose between a transparent and a white background, and whether to export just the shape or the full canvas. SVG exports keep transparency naturally, so a shape with a carved hole shows whatever sits behind it.

gooo.ooo needs no account and no sign-up. You open the page and start dragging. There's a paid pro tier for some export options, but nothing about using the tool requires you to register or hand over an email address.

There's no account and no login. The site uses GoatCounter for anonymous, cookieless visit counts — it sets no cookies and builds no profile, which is why there's no consent banner. Your artwork is never uploaded: shapes are rendered and exported in your own browser.
Licensing and commercial use
Can I use gooo shapes commercially?
Yes. You can use shapes you make in gooo in commercial work — client projects, products you sell, marketing, packaging, apps, games and merchandise — royalty-free and with no attribution required. The full terms are on the license page.
Are the shapes royalty-free?
Yes. There are no royalties, no per-use fees and nothing to report. You pay nothing beyond gooo pro itself, and during early access pro is unlocked for everyone at no cost.
Who owns the artwork I make with gooo?
You do. You chose the shape, the colours and the gradient, so the result is your creative work and Shareable claims no ownership of it. What Shareable owns is gooo itself — the tool, its code and its name — not the things you make with it.
Do I have to credit gooo.ooo?
No. Attribution is welcome but never required. Free-tier exports carry a small gooo.ooo watermark in the image itself; removing that watermark is part of gooo pro.
Can I sell the blobs I export as a pack or template set?
No. That's the one restriction. Using a shape in something you sell is fine; selling the shapes themselves — as a stock pack, template library, clip-art bundle or NFT collection — is not, because then the shapes are the product rather than an ingredient of it.
Can I use a gooo shape in a logo?
Yes, the license permits it. Be aware that a simple abstract shape may not be distinctive enough to register as a trademark, and that someone else could independently produce a similar one. That's a property of abstract geometry rather than a restriction gooo imposes.

What is a blob shape in graphic design?
A blob is a closed, irregular, soft-edged shape with no straight lines or sharp corners — the organic counterpart to a circle or rectangle. Designers use blobs as backgrounds, as containers behind photos and text, and as accent shapes, because the uneven outline reads as informal and human next to strict geometry. In code they're usually a single SVG path made of Bézier curves.
What is a mesh gradient, and how is it different from a linear gradient?
A linear gradient blends colours along one straight axis, so every band of colour is parallel. A mesh gradient blends several colour points spread across a two-dimensional area, so colours pool and bleed into each other in more than one direction — the soft, cloudy look common in modern app backgrounds. gooo offers linear and radial gradients, plus conic and mesh as part of pro.
The five shape modes
Every answer above applies to Blob mode, but gooo has five ways to build a shape:
- Blob — a closed organic shape you sculpt by dragging points. The default for backgrounds and accent shapes.
- Curve — a smooth area filled underneath your points, good for hills, waves and section shapes.
- Bar — a bar-chart silhouette.
